Buddha Purnima, also known as Vesak or Buddha Jayanti, is the most significant festival in Buddhism, commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and death (Maha Pari Nirvana) of Gautama Buddha. Meditation is the core practice of Gautama to achive enlightenment and become the Buddha

The day is often called the "Thrice Blessed Festival" because all three major life events of the Buddha are believed to have occurred on this same full moon day.
